Let’s Get Physical Physical , LuLa Custom Design, Lucy Saucedo

Hello, my beautiful followers. I’m back and with so much to tell. This week there was so much that happened. We are now officially starting Milestone number 3, which I am very excited about, because we get to really get physical and start doing hard work on the Airstream. But on Wednesday we had a very fun field trip, we had the ability to go to ACC and go see a real workshop with our own eyes. We got to see Pam introduce many of the tools that she uses every day that she is there. If you did not know there are many safety hazards that you have to follow in order to be eligible to work in that workshop.

First off I want to talk about the field trip we had with Pam. To me this field trip was the most fun one because we got to put together a tool box. We were sadly not able to cut the wood from start and make a tool box but we were able to construct it, the wood was precut because of safety hazards which I fully understand. But to our luck Pam and her helper Brad got to show us the tools that they used in order for them to create the pre-cut wood they had cut up for us to jut build. But before we even got to start building, we had a great safety lesson with Pam. She gave us much information on the things you wear the things you hold and the way your hair is when it comes to dangerous tools like the ones she uses.

Let’s talk about safety, safety is very important because we do not want to get our finger cut or well get hurt in general. Pam talked about how even the shoes you wear have to be sealed which  I found very interesting because I would have worn normal Nike shoes but sealed boots are your best option. Eye wear is very important because you don’t want to get anything in your eye. There is also hearing safety for example if you are using the Saw then that sound could affect your hearing because it is tremendously loud and it can hurt your hearing. Another safety hazard is also using your dust mask because this dust can go to your lungs and affect you tremendously. Something that people don’t take into consideration is lifting and caring. This can hurt the most because you can suffer back pain for many years, the proper way to lift and carry is using your legs not your back. I feel like this lesson will help us a lot because it will give us tips on how we work in our space area. The way we construct our Airstream.

Today we had the opportunity to start doing hard labor on the Airstream and let me tell you my hand hurts. The major work that I had to do today was scraping off the grease that was left from all of the previous years. Me and Laura had to scrape the little clumps of grease off, but let me tell you this is a lot more fun than staying inside and taking notes, and surprisingly even better than google sketch up. Today was a pretty exhausting day but we got a lot done inside the Airstream, at first I thought the interior of the Airstream was grey turns out its Yellow. Who would have ever guessed that? This past week has being one of the most funnest Milestone 3 is turning out pretty fun. Well this is all I have for today, my fellow bloggers. Have a Great day.

As you can see we are working hard on getting our Airstream to look spotless from the inside to the outside.
